President, MFAECA

Commodore Syed Ariful Islam,(TAS), ndc, psc, BN, Former Director General, Department of Shipping. He is a Course Member of NDC-2015. He was born on 15 August 1964.  He is 8th batch ex-Cadet of MFA

Fellow Mariner’s
Assalamu Alaikum.

MFAECA is a fully voluntary, non political & non profit welfare organization, run by Ex- cadets of Marine Fisheries Academy. It started It’s journey in 1982 by the hands of some dedicated and hardworking Ex-Cadets to protect the interest of the passed out Cadets, to maintain and develop brotherly relation among Ex-Cadets and to contribute in the nation building process with whatever capacity this association has, that include direct and indirect contribution to different kind of welfare and disaster relief activities across the country whenever needed.

So far, about 2000 Ex-Cadets have engaged in various profession in different parts of the world and playing a vital role in the economic development of the country.

Among those more than 1200 Ex-Cadets working in international maritime sector and earning handsome amount of foreign remittance for the nation annually.

In addition to providing food aid on National Crisis, providing oxygen and other assistance in Global Corona epidemic situation, supporting the local administration on lockdown and public awareness campaign and campaign to provide Covid vaccine to the mariners as a frontline hero are appreciated by the government of Bangladesh and people across the globe.

The association’s reputation is also intact in various constructive activities, including the socio-economic development of the cadets, training for skill development & character building, unveiling the job market, the creation of new opportunities, providing financial and medical assistance to the poor members’ families and so on.

Besides, members of our Association is directly contributing towards the country’s Blue Economy through active participation in the blue growth and also through facilitating the works of other stakeholders and coordinating with all other stakeholders of the maritime sector.

To the formation of civil society the contribution of the members of this Association is very significant. I am proud to be the president of this esteemed Organization.

Engineer Monwar Hossain, A.D. Sons Marine Tech. 16th batch Ex-Cadets of Marine Fisheries Academy.

Engineer Monwar Hossain BN has been a pivotal figure in the Marine Fisheries Academy Ex-Cadet Association. With over 30 years of experience in maritime operations, Engineer Monwar Hossain has led numerous successful missions and has been instrumental in mentoring the next generation of marine professionals. His dedication to the association and his exemplary leadership qualities have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Maritime Excellence Award. His contributions have significantly advanced the goals of the EX-CADET ASSOCIATION.
